Create a new text message (SMS, WhatsApp, Viber)

When using the SMS channel, the SALESmanago SMS provider gives you the most control over your campaigns, offering exclusive tools for budget management and 2-way SMS communication. It is the ideal solution for flash sales, critical updates, and keeping your brand top-of-mind.

1. Basic information
To send text messages, you must have an active integration with the gateway you intend to use.

Integrations can be configured in Channels Mobile Marketing Integrations.
- SMS: You can use external SMS gateways or the native SALESmanago SMS provider.
- WhatsApp / Viber: Requires an active integration with the respective service provider.
2. Step: Settings
In the first step of the wizard, you configure the basic parameters of your message and select your communication channels.

| Message name | Internal name used to identify the message in the system (e.g., in Analytics). |
| Group | Choose a group to categorize your message template. Select an existing group or create a new one. |
| Choose communication channels | Select the checkbox for the channel(s) you wish to use for this campaign. |
| Select integration | For each selected channel, use the dropdown menu to choose your specific active integration. |
3. Step: Create new message
In this step, you define the actual content of your message.
Type a new message directly into the editor.
Select a pre-saved message template.
- Group: Use the dropdown to select a specific group or create a new one.
- Use: Click to use an existing template as is.
- Edit: Click to modify an existing template. This loads the content into the editor for changes before sending.
Message Creator
Customize your message content with additional elements:
- System emojis: Requires enabling diacritical characters.
- Photos from the gallery: Insert images (JPG format only).
- Products from the gallery: Insert a product image with an automatic URL link.
- Link: Direct recipients to your website.
Coupons & Personalization
You can use coupons in the body of messages with the placeholder $cst.name_coupon.coupon$.
Example: A coupon called "first_order_coupon" will display via $cst.first_order_coupon.coupon$.

Character Count
The counter shows the total characters and the number of SMS parts required for delivery.
Dynamic Length
Dynamic elements (like placeholders) may change the final length, potentially splitting your message into multiple parts.
Message settings
- Allow diacritical characters: Enable support for marks like ę, ż, ä, ü, ß and emojis.
- Shorten links in messages: Automatically shortens URLs to save characters and track clicks.
Message preview
Preview your text message on each integrated messenger. This is useful for checking if your integrated SMS gateway supports diacritical characters.
4. Step: Send
Define your audience, review costs, and send the campaign.
Select contacts
- Segment: Choose a predefined segment (AI Sidekick generated or existing list).
- Select Contacts: Define the group of Contacts to address using standard selectors.
- Exclude Contacts: Define groups that should not receive the message.
- Additional Filters: Apply extra conditions (New condition / New exclusion).
Country Code Requirement
When using the SALESmanago SMS provider, the system automatically requires you to filter by Country Code. This ensures valid destinations. Learn more about Country Codes.
Recipient count and credit estimation
- Total recipients: For standard integrations, counts the total Contacts who will receive the message.
- Estimated number of recipients and credits: If using the SALESmanago SMS provider, this counts both recipients and the estimated credit cost. Learn more about credits.
Final settings
- SMS sender: Verify the sender ID (phone number or alphanumeric name).
- Date of sending: Send immediately or schedule for a specific future date.
- Select time zone: Adjust the sending time based on a specific time zone.
5. Analytics
After the campaign is sent, view performance in the Mobile Marketing analytics.
Navigation
Go to Menu Mobile Marketing Dashboard, find your message in the Sent messages table, and click Analytics.
Credit Transparency
For messages sent via the SALESmanago SMS provider, the analytics display a Credits used count to compare estimated vs. actual spending.
